Here's a true, behind-the-scenes story about writing this book. Amy Poehler was one of the fabulous women I had to research. When I read her book, I made an amazing discovery: She and I wore the same prom dress in high school. We're prom dress twins!
Naturally, I wrote a letter to her, in care of her publisher, alerting her to this amazing fact.
Alas, she did not write back. Which is fine - I'm sure she's just very busy. Either that or she thought I was nuts. Or some editor didn't pass along my letter and is still laughing about it today...
Which, honestly, is also great. A tiny bit embarrassing? Sure. But hey, if I'm getting a laugh it's a good day!
